As usual, we'll be drinking a Vernor's toast to PAS at our Saturday pizza party. In addition, anyone who'd like to is welcome to join us for a dim sum brunch at 11:30 am Sunday at Lai Lai--the Chinese restaurant in the small shopping center just south of Meijer's at the corner of Carpenter and Ellsworth. This is a long-running February birthday celebration honoring Paula (in memoriam), Carrie Waara (in absentia), and Mon Yee (in person).
Alas, I have a memorial service in Detroit to go to on Sunday, so I won't be able to make dim sum this time. I'll be thinking of ya'll, and Paula, though!

We are in Paula mode here in CT - playing Paulaesque musique and remembering with photos and letters galore. Pammy had a Paula sighting on the 1 train subway in NYC last monday. We had shot on down to Chinatown for a quick holiday lunch and shopping. picked a bad spot for chow and ordered some abomination called a chicken cake casserole. not so swell. Nevertheless, Happy birthday Pawdah and Happy New Year to all.

I LOVE that photo! I was just thinking of that trip as the last time I saw Aunt Agnes. We had a great time, didn't we?

isn't it fine? Not really birthday-ish, but that will have to wait for the day I finally get around to scanning the box of old prints . . .
